We’d love to invest in indigenous people, and people with a deep tie to a place, mestizo’s, poor folks in Appalachia, rather than just in the graduates of good schools working in the developing world. We’d like to invest in young socents, too, but we’d like to be sure the people effected, the target population, is at the table in every deal in a meaningful way. Projects like this and lots of others, show that it is could be doable, if you selected well, and looked at all the risks and rewards in a holistic way. In workforce development you have to limit the participation of the target population to make it work. I am not sure what the mix in the Symbiotic Fund might be.
